why are kd/zeta considered to be top?

If tier status is important to you, them yes ZTA and KD are probably considered the 2 "best"...primarily because they tend to have exceptionally beautiful girls in those houses. Both are overall also great houses and heavily involved on campus...One of these houses also has an exceptional philanthropy that raises hundredths of thousands of dollars...however, that does not mean that they are the "best" for you. Go thru rush and see where you fit in regardless of tier ranks. Being in a sorority is not cheap, therefore choose wisely... FYI keep in mind that ALL of the houses at FSU are pretty selective with their PNM's so you should do your best to impress ALL houses...they are working equally as hard to impress you. Good luck

No it doesn't really matter what house you are in if you are joining a sorority for the right reasons. Just like all organizations some are just considered to be better than others based on a variety of parameters..For sorority ranks the primary one is looks because it helps create the overall image and popularity of the group. Don't misunderstand me, while looks is at the top of the list, all houses are genuinely looking for smart well rounded girls who share similar values to form a sisterhood with. ZTA and KD just do an excellent job in recruiting exceptional girls consistently. No one can speak to a chapters sisterhood that is not in it, so do not let anyone tell you that xyz house may be top but their sisterhood is bad.. Top, mid or bottom houses ALL have strong sisterhoods or they wouldn't exist.
How do you even know you like AXO DZ Aphi if you haven't gone through rush? You really aren't keeping an open mind..and that is a shame because YOU will end up disappointed.

@real I get what you're saying. And don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to meeting all the houses and getting to know them. I know people in the chapters I mentioned so I do like those chapters, but I'm not set on them or anything. I was just saying that rank doesn't matter to me personally. It's not why I want to do recruitment

The original poster "PNM" wants you to accept as a fact that KD and Zeta are the top two. "PNM" is a secret Zeta or KD and is NOT a DG because if there is one sorority that has the market cornered on gorgeous women it is DG.
And just so you know, there are FIVE sororities in the 'Top Tier'. They are in no order Tri-Delta, ADPi, DG, KD, Zeta.
'Tiers' is an artificial term that has nothing to do with philanthropy or grades. It is almost entirely defined by how pretty the girls are and who (which fraternities) they socialize with.
'Tiers' have no substantial meaning at all. They're just fun to talk about.

@real, hey thanks for your response. I don't really care about ranking personally. I was just wondering how/why you guys rank houses? I mean does it matter what house you're in really? I just wanted to understand what makes KD so prestigious and popular and what makes another sorority somehow less. I just don't get it. All the houses are nice and seem to do good things, so no I'm not too concerned with ranks. I like a lot of the middle/ lower houses like AXO, DZ, and APhi but I want to keep an open mind during recruitment definitely. What house are you in?
