does your meal plan suck also

by:

My daughter has been complaining to us about her meal plan at her sorority house - she will not complain b/c of the ridicule that she would receive by doing so.

Her complaints center around the quality of the food, and the fact that the "good food" seems to run out quickly.

Question: How is the meal plan in your sorority?
We are paying a lot of money for her to be a part of the Greek culture, and should not have to be suffering from lack of / quality of food since that is where all of the money is going based on the current ban.

Thank you for your feedback, and Go Noles!

It’s a meal plan! I’m not sure exactly what the expectations are here but basically most houses have food that is pretty decent. Like any mass made food not all 200 girls are going to like. Generally speaking I think most of the girls who utilize the plan live in house . Those of us who live elsewhere primarily eat at our apartments and pop into the house a few days a week to eat if it’s convenient. If she joined the sorority for the meal plan she may be disappointed.

Nolegurl,

Last semester I did not have any expectations for the quality of the food. I was in a sorority as well at FSU, so I get it.

My concern is that when the fees that we pay do not change, but the activities that are allowed (through no fault of the girls, I know) are basically eliminated, I start to question where my (and your) money is going.

I understand that most of the girls that utilize the plan live in the house; but all 250 girls are paying equally.

I hope that things get back to "normal" for Greek Life soon.

Greek Mama,

What part of punishment are YOU not understanding? We are being punished but unfortunately the costs of running a sorority don't stop. If you were in a sorority at FSU then you must know the operating costs involved. Regardless of whatever bans are placed on us we must still meet our financial obligations locally and to our national organizations. That does not change. Tell your daughter the food is definitely better than dorm food, It's an adjustment

Thank you girls for your kind feedback!

Please keep in mind, chances are your parents are paying the bill.

And from what I can tell, it is pretty expensive right now considering that most of what we are paying for is the meal plan.\n\n\n\n\n I do sympathize with your situation currently, especially since I was in Greek life at Fsu myself and never experienced a ban.

And since we parents are the ones most likely cutting the check ( which is just an expression, a check is a piece of paper that used to be used as a form of currency, you will find out more as you begin to pay your own bills) , we are probably a little more sensitive to getting a return on our investment.

Thank you again for sharing your story!

Perhaps your princess is a tad picky?
Overall sorority food is generally pretty good...
And FYI mommy many of us pay our own dues
Perhaps if princess did the food may not be an issue
Are you raising a snowflake too?

I am not sure what you mean by my "Princess doing the food", sounds like what you do during your weekend.

Seriously, take a moment and read your own post - it is truly sad.

To answer your question (I guess it is a question as the sentence ended with a question mark), she is a tad picky. She prefers to associate with people who are driven, and on a path to success; which probably explains why you may not have met her.

Also, honestly I have never heard her called Snowflake before. I have heard her referred to as Joshu (by the students she trains at TS Mixed Martial Arts, she is a 1st Degree Black Belt, working on obtaining her 2nd), Captain (by the Lacrosse team that she led in High School), and Lieutenant Colonel but her fellow airmen in her ROTC class.

Maybe when you see her you can ask her if she would like to be called Snowflake. You may find her near the Honors building as she is currently on the Law School track hoping to become a Federal Prosecutor one day.

Please... let me know how it goes!

You know how everyone is always saying how bad greek rank is for greek life and how we should get rid of it? Well, everyone tell you parents about this site and how they should come here often and post a bunch! Greek rank will soon go the way of myspace and facebook!

By the way Greek Parent, I believe that umm forgot a comma when he/she posted the comment about "doing the food". I believe it was meant to say, "Perhaps if princess did, the food may not be an issue" with did pertaining to paying her own bills.

Have a great day and don't forget to tell your folks about Greek Rank!

Hi "mama",

Believe me I was able to use "context clues" to figure out the true meaning to "Umm's" gibberish; I thought that my sarcasm was a little more obvious :).

Have a great day!

Greek parent,

Go away, far away and never return to this site.
Take your manly sounding lacrosse playing black- belt daughter with you.
She sounds like she probably won't fit into greek life anyway since her mommy feels the need to come on a COLLEGE student web site to ask ridiculous idiotic questions that could be answered by her daughters own sorority officers.

Have you tried just talking to the sorority's treasurer...? Assuming your not a troll (which is unlikely) It's not a good idea to describe your daughter on here.
