why sororities too?
by: HiI'm sure this has been discussed somewhere already, but I don't understand the logic of suspending sororities. Like no sororities haze at all, so why couldn't they just suspend all frats to make a statement? This situation is horrible and makes Greek life look bad for sure, but sororities really aren't bad organizations at all and are much more self-regulated than fraternities so we should be less of a liability to the school. Thoughts??

you are kidding, right? It has been as much as a tradition for sororites to get their new little sisters completely drunk on little sister reveal night as it is for the fraternites. I have seen more sisters making sure their completely drunk little sisters vomit, make sure they don't encounter the exact same thing that happened to that poor Phi Kap. Don't be naive. Sororities are very much a part of the problem when you talk about overdoing it with alcohol especially on big sister reveal night.

My sorority is haze free we are not even allowed to hand new members drinks if we are out with them on the off chance they feel pressured to drink. We also are expected to protect and take care of all new members

Stop acting like you don't go and underage drink at every frat house like every other sorority girl at this school. If you're making the argument that you shouldn't be in trouble if you didn't directly do anything then my frat shouldn't be suspended either but that's the way it is

Lets just get one thing straight.here. Binge drinking is a COLLEGE,problem, not a greek.problem. So you, a geed, have never had an alcoholic drink underage? Seems like you're just upset you don't get invited to said frat parties but 🐸☕️

they don’t. ZTA is a completely hazing free sorority. They have such strict rules. big/lil is a ritual and they can’t drink 24 hours before and after. there rules are crazy but I guess that’s what makes them top

The only sororities that I've heard about hazing in the last few years (at other schools), are DPhIE, AXiD, SK, Tri Sigma, and SDT. These are all much smaller national organizations that aren't as involved in the way the individual chapters operate so you have more breaking the rules.
Literally all the big sororities nationally have advisors breathing down their necks about hazing and would shut a chapter down immediately if they catch that kind of behavior.
