letters of rec
by: PnnDo you need to have a letter of recommendation I'm coming from out of state and I know absolutely no one lol

It has been addressed numerous times. You will have some poser come on and say you don't need them You want to buy into it because that is the lazy way out, but YES! YOU NEED RECS. This is a competitive rush. And no netter who you are, you need every advantage you can get.

You are technically correct. You can enroll in rush without recs. Panhellenic does not require them, BUT many sororities are required by their national headquarters to have a rec for each girl they pledge. Why make it easy for them to drop you over a girl who did go to the trouble of getting them?
FSU rush is big, All but the least competitive sororities will have to drop a significant number of PNMs after first round, and the easiest cuts are low GPA and no rec. Give yourself the advantage that IS in your control.

I came from out-of-state and did not know anyone at FSU. I got 2-3 recs for every house. (Recs don't have to be written by alumnae of each FSU chapter, just of the national organization.) It helped me because each chapter was "pre-introduced" to me. I am convinced this helped me have a successful rush. There is still time, but you've got to hurry.

What houses require letters nationally?? I'm rushing but I don't come from a family involved in Greek life or around anyone that has really been involved in Greek life. I was under the impression that they helped but were not necessary but now I'm nervous that I don't have any
