parents won't allow me to rush

by:

What's up, so I'm going to be a sophomore at FSU next year and I was planning on rushing a fraternity. However, my parents don't want me to because of the parties and underage drinking. What can I tell them to let me join? They are very old fashioned and don't agree with "anything they do".

I should also say that they will most likely not pay for it since they don't agree with fraternities. How would maintaining a job while rushing be? Would it be too stressful with work, school, and pledging?

I never asked my parents. I just rushed and made a decent fraternity then told them during my first winter break. Having a job is do-able an you won't get dropped for work obligations. Find a job you can call off easier or work more day time shifts because you will miss fun/important stuff at night. Most chapters have payment plans.
