alpha phi
by: Wonderingwhy is alpha phi constantly ranked so low? i'm genuinely asking because they do have really pretty girls and seem to be around a lot, but there seems to be an issue every time they're ranked higher

Ranks are pretty much set in stone due to history of greek life here. No matter how good you think your chapter is, so is the other one above or below in the "tiers". Unless if lets say DG did something crazy and got kicked off, why would you think something that has been the same for years would change...

First of all I'm not in Alpha Phi but from what I've seen Alpha Phi has made great strides since they've been on campus and that doesn't sit well with some. They are new (within the last several years) and other sororities that have been here longer don't want to see them move above them so they put them below them in the ranks. They do very well at Linedance, they were in The South's Cutest Sorority Pledge Class Fall 2016, 7 Sororities That Are More Than Just Looks Spring 2017 and Best Greek Philanthropy Events March 2017. They have beautiful, sweet, outgoing girls. To all PNMs, go into recruitment with an open mind and decide for yourself.

alpha phi is still relatively new on campus. because of this, they are definitely not in the middle tier that are constantly ranking themselves in. they have a long way to go, yet they continue to rank themselves on the same level as chi o and pi phi. That's when people bash them, because theres no way they can compare themselves to the strong middle tier sororities yet. they're not bottom, but they're not middle. So they need to just let themselves stay in the same, lower-mid category they belong in.

"restrict their members from going to "bad" frats" This is ridiculous. I've seen Alpha Phi's at a wide range of frats

Tiers are based on looks and which fraternities you associate with. But mostly on looks. The tiers are not determined by people who 'vote' on this website. The tiers are self-evident, and pretty much everyone agrees on who's who.
Can a sorority rise in rank? Yes, sure. But you have to pledge pretty girls and have mixers with the right fraternities.

but this brings to speculation: why are they so low over something as petty as "self ranking" since that doesn't even really have to do with quality of girls? and why is dg so high when people have so many negative things to say? i'm not saying one should be higher or the other lower but what/ who determines this then?
