I'm getting this answer from my boyfriend since he won't post anything himself. Pike looks to sign about 15-20 guys max in the summer and all the rest of the class comes during fall formal recruitment. If you're the right fit you could probably get a bid on the first night of formal recruitment. Basically the Pikes are looking for guys who are already Pikes, just younger versions of Pike.
I know not all fraternities process things the same way. I used to date a KA and I know their recruitment is a lot different. That I what I like about fraternities compared to sororities. Every fraternity seems to have a different way of structuring their recruitment to find what works best for them. Sororities are heavily restricted to what they can and can't do, but it all works out. I probably need to erase the part about KA I'm being looked at. !

answer to 'curious'. Yes, they sign bid cards in the summer but don't officially pledge until after fall recruitment.

That's nothing special. Pike isn't the only fraternity that signs new members in the summer.
