opinions on mid-lower tier fraternities
by: SoFlo Pre MedI'm going to be rushing in the Spring and am thinking about rushing ZBT, Fiji, or Delta Chi. I'm pre Med and take school really seriously, and don't want to deal with the time commitments of the "upper tier" frats, especially after hearing about from friends who rushed this fall and now have to switch out of Pre Med. Which of these 3 are on the rise and would be a fun brotherhood to be in? Can anyone give a little summary of the reputation of each? Thanks

There's nothing wrong with those fraternities you named but you may be mistaken in thinking that pre-med majors aren't in the top fraternities.
I don't know of any fraternities here that are NOT fun and have brotherhood. Every fraternity gets excited to be 'on the rise'.
ZBT has a great house and the poster is right that Fiji will probably grow because they have a good house now. Nothing wrong with Delta Chi either.

I think you're rationale is all wrong. Take it from someone who knows...med school is crazy and residency is even more crazy. If you don't think you can commit to being active in a fraternity and also do well as a pre med, then perhaps you should do yourself a favor and change majors. Conversely, if you are a good student that has what it takes to get into med school, then a house with a strong rep will help you to work on soft skills that aren't taught in courses and will help you as a physician. I know this last point will be up for debate by lower frats...sorry.
