rushing a fraternity as a sophomore
by: not sure
I'm sure this question has been run through a million times, but this is my 2nd semester at FSU. I didn't rush last spring, or this fall but I definitely regret it because I feel like I missed out on the type of people that I've been associating with all of my life, outgoing, fun, and social. A lot of my friends from high school are in fraternities and sororities at their schools and are shocked that I never rushed. Basically all I'm asking is if I were to rush this spring would I stand a chance at getting a bid even though I'm a sophomore and barely know anyone involved in greek life here?
Thanks

I'm not gonna lie, it is harder to get a bid as a sophomore to top tier fraternities because they want guys that will be there for years and contribute the most to the fraternity for as long as possible. If you go mid-lower tier fraternities you'll most likely find guys one that will take you. I'm in a bottom tier fraternity and got initiated as a fall semester juco transfer.

With respect to the poster named "bottom tier", I disagree. I am a Brother in a top tier fraternity and we don't care. We like the majority of the pledge class to be freshmen, but we will gladly take sophomores or juniors who fit in. Sororities are different. The top sororities seldom take anyone but freshmen.

What exactly do you mean by contribute to the Fraternity? Because I am looking at top tier.
