sorority recruitment info on top and upper houses

Many of of pnm's will be wondering what the reps are of each house and their status in greek life...here's an honest review of the majority of houses I am familiar with and an honest view of each ....
Ok, so by know you know that zta, kd and dg are probably the most popular houses on campus and considered the "top" tier... well yes they are for a variety of reasons..
these houses are probably the most selective and difficult to obtain bids from and generally the ones most pnms go into recruitment wanting..
Zta- not going to lie, a really great house in many ways. Super beautiful girls, academically top, great philanthropy and overall pretty diverse. Overall a A+ sorority but realistically they are only going to take maybe 70 out of 1600+ girls
KD- a super great sorority, with beautiful women, involved chapter and also a great history at FSU. Again... they are going to take maybe 70 out of 1600+ girls.
Delta Gamma- another super sorority at FSU with a long history of involvement and excellence at FSU..but keep in mind super selective like zta and KD
DDD- a great upper tier house full of fun pretty women who have made a great comeback in recent years... Def a very very good house..
Theta- Very interesting sorority, highly diverse and well liked on campus
ADpi- a very strong house with a longstanding tradition of excellence and involvement.
Lots of great women in this house.
Look at EVERY house as you go through recruitment... not just these

Do the math.. The percentage of girls receiving bids to these houses is almost identical which is the point

One thing you are not keeping in mind is the "Legacy Count". Girls that are legacies are virtually guaranteed a bid (even if they say they aren't). In fact, some sororites like ADPi get extra funds from nationals if they take more than 50% legacies. For example: last year I never met a fall pledge that was ADPi that wasn't a legacy. KD and DG are also known for their high legacy counts. Being that there are more than 2000 girls currently signed up for Rush, I hope PNM's keep in mind that getting into these top houses without being a legacy or having 2 recs is really, really hard. If you are just playing the numbers, and each house has about 100 spots and 50 are taken by legacies/or recs then the average girl only has less than 2% chance of getting in if they are competing against over 2000 girls. The point of this is not to make you sad, but to consider that the odds might be working against you and to consider ALL houses equally.

Also, there are houses (like Zeta) that have a national requirement that states they can only give bids to those who have at least one recommendation. PNM's need to really research each house. It makes me sad to see girls that are heartbroken to not get the sorority of their dreams but sometimes the reality is that they didn't get the necessary recs.

Moral of the story, don't get your hopes up for the top 3. Above wrote 100+ but that's a little to general for a hopeful PNM. PC's will probably be a max of 120. There is no way it's going to be higher than that per house so don't grovel to only the top tier. Your chances of getting into a top tier is less than 20%. Rush with an open mind.

I believe that it was reported last year that the average fall pledge class was 89 girls. This was just the overall average as I remember. Some houses were higher and some were lower.

Last years quota was 100. That's the max any sorority could take in their fall PCs. This year the max is gonna be around 120. So they can take less than that.

What OP is trying to say, is that during the first few rounds of recruitment, these are the houses that are supper selective on who they keep with each round. They have the highest amount of PNM's wanting them back, but they can only take a certain amount, and are therefore extremely selective in who they keep until the end. Everyone wants to be them, whether we admit it or not, they are the ones that literally get to pick who they want. So keep that in mind while going through rush, and don't be too hurt if they don't pick you.

point is the selectivity of these houses and overall truth in what they represent....but represent the selectivity of these houses... Give the pnm's an honest view of their chances
