aphi and dz
by: HmI want to rush soon and I was wondering. Why does everyone hate one Alpha Phi and Delta Zeta?
#1by: nah
if you're gonna get caught up in this who doesn't like who nonsense then you're not ready to rush. We don't want anyone like you adding that kind of garbage to our community.
so if you realize you should rush whatever chapter you could see yourself best fitting with for their values and morals and the people you click with, then you'll know it doesn't matter why anyone may or may not bother dissing others
#2by: tbh
Obviously, there are girls you don't like in other chapters, but there are also going to be girls you don't like in your chapter. Like they said, if you let not liking one girl in DZ or not liking one girl in A Phi keep you then you aren't mature enough to be greek yet.
#3by: Go Greek

Unlike everyone else, I will actually answer your question. My disclaimer here is that every single chapter, without exception, gets hate. It's really stupid, especially considering the small size of our Greek life, but anyways...
DZ: they were the hottest sorority for a long time, and they did not have a rep for being very nice. Then they started doing not as well during recruitment, so people took the opportunity to be mean right back. They didn't really bother to build friendships with other sororities and hung out mostly with frats, landing them the nickname "easy DZ." They are perhaps not as elite as they used to be, but they seem really okay to me.
APhi: they are the party sorority. They have a poor reputation for their sisterhood and many girls drop them after recruitment. They've got a similar rep for "partying with frats" as DZ, so they're not far off from each other in that sense. I've met some nice and down to Earth APhis, and some high school-seque ones. It really depends.
There is no perfect sorority at this school.
#5by: seriously
Honestly everyone hates on DZ and Aphi because during recruitment, these are the two sororitys that do the best. Everyone wants to get a bid, and when a lot of girls don't, they turn salty and catty and start rumors about bad sisterhoods, mean girls, etc. No matter what sorority you chose at DePaul there is going to be some stigma, that's just greek life in general, but honeslty every single sorority on campus has so much to offer to its members. It's not about who like's who, it's about finding your home away from home and having an amazing support system of accomplished and inspiring women to help guide you through your college years. Don't listen to the rumors and chose whatever sorority you feel is best.

Honestly, the women who are actually committed not only to their own chapter but to Panhellenic values as well don't hate other chapters. Greek life at DePaul and Greek life anywhere isn't about being in the top house or hating other houses. It's a community of different groups of people and we all have fun together and are nice to each other.
