"hazing"

by: Greek Unity

245.6 (b) "Hazing" means any method of initiation or pre-initiation into a student organization or student body, whether or not the organization or body is officially recognized by an educational institution, which is likely to cause serious bodily injury to any former, current, or prospective student of any school, community college, college, university or other educational institution in this state. The term "hazing" does not include customary athletic events or school-sanctioned events.

Please do not throw around this terminology so loosely. Tread lightly when using this word as it impacts the Greek community at CSUN as a whole. We already have had three fraternities kicked off campus. Set your differences aside and work together towards a unified goal. Everyone here attends an institution where a higher level of education is offered and should act as collegiate minded people.

Hazing someone active is the same as hazing a pledge. It is illegal to make someone do something they didn't want to do no matter on their standing.
