As a member of one of these sororities and I never understood what it’s about. I feel like our out upperclassmen have issues with them but I have no clue really.

They're historically the two oldest social sororities on campus which means they've been in constant competition with each other. Not always healthy competition. It's gotten better though most of the people that remember when there were less sororities and thought the competition actually mattered have graduated.
