are sororities already recruiting?
by: should i be worried?I'm a first year and pretty interested in joining a sorority. I have a couple friends who already know girls in several sororities. Some have been invited to lunches or dinners to meet sisters and talk about the sorority. How important is it to know girls or be recruited like this? Will houses already know exactly who they want and ignore all the rest?

What you're most likely describing is continuous open bidding, or informal recruitment. Basically if sororities didn't get enough girls during formal or if they had girls drop, they can have their own mini recruitment. You can only join any sorority once you have one semester of a college gpa though.
