dg

by: DGwannabe

I'm rushing this spring and I really really want DG. Does anyone have any tips for getting in? I think I have the right look (blonde hair, blue eyes, tan), but any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Hey PNM!

Good choice, DG is a well known sorority that's not too hard to get a bid from. Just be yourself, smile, be polite etc. I did not want a bid from DG and continuously ranked them as my last choice (but didn't cut them) and was invited to their pref night.

They are very nice girls and not too exclusive either. I ended up in another sorority because it was a better fit for me but that doesn't mean that it's not a good sorority!

If my first choice had cut me and I ended up in DG I think I could have still been happy. I hope you end up wherever you're meant to be! Be sure to go into recruitment with an open mind :)

This is such an egregious troll. DG is the best sorority, hands down. If you them last, they'd laugh so hard they'd throw up.

Go be a loser somewhere else, loser.

For the PNM: In all earnestness the sororities really can't see how you rank them, the sisters who do are sworn to confidentiality. It really is a mutual selection process. I'm guessing BC 15 is a DG and it's great that she wants to promote her sorority (we all think our own sororities are the best :)) but you should know that no one will "laugh" based on how you rank your choices.

To BC 15: I'm sorry you feel that way, it was no way disrespecting your sorority, I'm just trying to give the PNM an accurate idea of what recruitment is like and how realistic her expectations are. If I were you I would be trying to dispel the "tan, blond hair, blue eyes" impression that she seems to have. When I went to DG parties I was more impressed by their philanthropy and sisterhood than their looks. A bid from DG, or any sorority, is not inherently a good or a bad thing it's all about the fit and how you "click" with other people.

Did you take a few years off between high school and college to see the world? Are you taking a victory lap or are you in the SEAS 3:2 program? Are you a back to schooler? If so, DG is the place for you. DG has decided to rebrand itself on campus because sisters were tired of getting called blond, tan, & blue-eyed all of the time. They wanted to have more substance to their image. So what if they're 5 years older than the freshmen pledges they meet at frat houses? It's not against the law in every state and a few of their sisters were paralegals before applying to GS so they aren't worried about that pickle.
Anyway, you've been warned: DG is not taking freshmen this year unless they spent a couple extra years at prep school before entering the ivy league, if you know what I mean... DG has a much more sophisticated, classy, and mature image now, they're not your average blond bimbos! Must be at least 21.

Ugh I'm so sick of DGs acting like they are "sophisticated" and "mature" because their chapter is older on average. It doesn't make you better than everyone else it just makes you DELTA GRANDMAS. Seriously you're too old for bar hopping and mixers, why don't you get a job or get married like every other sorority woman in her late twenties? Oh, that's right! Because you couldn't manage to go to school and finish it on time like a normal person. DG is for the girls who needed a couple gap years to "find themselves" de-worming orphans in Somalia, doing organic farming in Montana, or fighting in the army. They act like it makes them better than everyone else but really it's just pathetic. Act your age DGs!!!!

OK this is getting ridiculous there are not THAT many GS students in DG! As a member of a fraternity I want to say that DGs are young and beautiful! They may have a couple women older than average, but it's really not the defining factor of our chapter!

This is ridiculous. Who knew sorority girls could be so rude. Whoever wrote these mean reviews about DG did a good job making Greek Life look bad, full of backstabbers and name callers. I dropped out of recruitment and I'm glad I did.

These posts are sickening. I don't know who would write these things but a DG would clearly not bash their own sorority so much. So, whoever they are, stop. These types of comments make us all look back, as we're a back stabbing community, and if I was a PNM, I'd be deterred from Greek Life in general. :(
