i have 4 chapters i preffed but only want one, will putting one put me at the bottom of the list for my top choice

no, it just decreases your chances of getting into any sorority - which is what the system tries to do. So if you are not high enough on the one sorority you love list you may not get a bid however if you think that you can grow to love the other 3 chapters you should still put them. Being a part of a chapter is much better than being in none
