Question about recruitment selection

Why do some sororities invite you to their Second round or Third Round and seem to like you a lot, but then cut you?

For second round to third round, they probably didn’t see you as a good fit. For preference, they simply can’t take everybody, so someone has to get cut

What determines how big the sorority’s pledge class will can? Is it based on the number of seniors who will be graduating? Or other criteria?

Every chapter has the same number of PNMs they can invite back (usually around 30-45). Anyone after the 30th/45th position won’t get a bid through formal but sorority can have them join through informal if they still haven’t reached the max number of sisters
