this sorority is disgusting... I went to their philanthropy and development rounds, but ranked them last on the second day. I'm a woman of color who was hopeful because of the amount of women of color I saw on their website and social media. however, when you're actually in the recruitment room, it's obvious why they're there: tokenism. The ONLY people who approached me or talked to me during recruitment were women of color talking about how great their "diversity programming" is. When I asked them to explain, I learned that behind all the fancy language, it's basically asking the WOC in the sorority to take on extra emotional labor to teach the fragile little white women how to be nice to people of color. truly disgusting. absolutely laughable. I feel sorry for every woman of color in this sorority and every pnm tricked by this little game.

while i am not in a sorority but was asked to informally rush to two different sororitys + did formal rush but dropped, i find delta gamma to be really misunderstood. i honestly feel like a lot of girls are just jealous they didn't get in. i don't know all the dg girls but the ones that i've met are really chill and pretty nice. they're not really deep introspective thinkers, they keep to themselves, are mostly white wealthy girls, and are also pretty/popular so that's probably why they get so much hate. there are mostly weird sororitys with weird/insecure girls at Columbia and the only comparable one to dg is theta. and theta is SO much worse in terms of personality + sisterhood (p much everyone hates being in theta but will stay because they like being known as the girl in theta). dg girls are nice, pretty, popular, and do a lot of cool things on/off campus.
