As someone not involved with Greek life, watching this sorority fall to pieces has been horrible. Sororities were never made for women of color and this particular chapter made sure everyone remembers that. Sisterhood is not a word that can be applied to this chapter and the bullies that reside within it. The women who have disaffiliated from this sorority had the right idea and deserved better. If the remaining members cannot see what made those women leave, they are part of the problem. This chapter has a lot of work to do before it can claim any notion of sisterhood, trust, and respect.

Some of the nicest people I've met are in AOII. Sure, most of them are not party animals, and some might not conform to society's narrow standards of attractiveness, but if that's all people care about, they have poor values. AOII has a really strong sisterhood, and they support each other through thick and thin; that should matter. To whoever has been tearing them down on this site, stop: it's petty and mean. Love from a GPhi <3

The truth is that AOII has some of the kindest and most loving girls around. Their current executive board is phenomenal, and their president is the nicest girl you will ever meet. They are inclusive, one of the most diverse sororities on campus, and open-hearted. Greekrank is not an accurate depiction of ANY sorority, especially when it is the same person repeatedly going on and spending all of their time tearing a community of strong women down. Every organization has a few people who aren't going to get along perfectly, but it's unfair of the person spreading hate to affect every single sister in the sorority like this. There's no need to throw them under the bus. The vast majority of them are very sweet, and very tied to their values. Don't believe everything you read, especially when it's anonymously over the Internet, and all seems to be written by the same person.

This sorority is very kind and sweet and has a good mix of girls, from ones who go out a lot to more quiet girls who are in it for the sisterhood. They have had some problems as all groups have but at the end of the day they have learned and are trying to fix them and seem very positive going into recruitment.

I honestly just really like them. They're very fun and goofy whenever I see them out together, and they don't take themselves seriously like some sororities. They just seem like they have a good time with their sisters and are really in it for each other. I'm excited to see who ends up in their new pledge class since their PC last year was probably the best they've ever had!

I am a member of another sorority on campus and my best friend is in AOII. She loves it and always introduces me to her sisters, who are some of the nicest and most genuine people I've ever met. I've truly never seen a group of women (outside of my own organization obviously!) who cares about each other so much and has so much fun together. While not for everyone, the women who seen to thrive in AOII are women who really appreciate what sisterhood means and see a sorority as a way to uplift each other. My best friend is always talking about how selfless they are, and I think that's true. I wish I could opt out of the tier system on Greekrank because it's dumb, but basically I think you should consider AOII if you really value kindness, inclusivity, and the support of other women.
