soph rush

by: Razorback

I dropped out of rush this year after top houses cut me so was going to rush again as soph. I've tried to make friends in top houses without being obvious but it's not working. Also two girls from my small OOS hometown rushed two of the top houses this year and see me as a partier and didn't like me so they wouldn't vote for me. Can one girl keep me out of a top tier? Will sororities remember they cut me? Did I screw up? Should I just do spring rush and try to be happy in a lower tier? I don't want to stay here if I'm not Greek.

Listen up. I rushed as a sophomore after almost exactly the same thing happened to me freshman year. Now I'm in one of the top houses that cut me the first time around. So it is possible. But I had girls in this house pulling for me. My freshman year roommate, her friends, other girls in this sorority I met in my classes. I also had a squeaky clean reputation. It sounds like you're at a disadvantage since you don't have any connections and a possible reputation issue. People are going to tell you that you don't have a chance at re-rushing successfully, but I just wanted to put in that it IS possible, you just have to work at it.

Thanks for the advice. I made myself out to be a partier but I'm really not it's just what they think.
