a joke. knowing someone in a house definitely doesn't make you a shoe in. Rush at the U of A is a little harder than that.
knowing someone, being close to that person, having a good reputation and being an impressive potential member all go together to change what houses you go back to. and all of that can even be forgotten when chance steps in.
each house cuts girls for different things. some houses cut girls for bad reputations, others keep them. it all just depends on the house.
and really, pledging pretty much any house here (with a couple of exceptions) is better than pledging a house at a university with sucky greek life. so give them all a chance.

when I was a PNM, i didn't know any of the reputations of the sororities here because I was from out of state, and used this website to form opinions about each house. I can tell you right now how big a mistake that is, because when I actually went through recruitment, the ladies of each house proved their stereotype wrong. My best advice would be to go through without any preconceived ideas about houses because you never know anything about the girls until you actually meet them. Let each house surprise you, and I PROMISE you won't regret it.

for anyone to rank houses as top-tier or bottom tier. To do so is completely based on personal opinion and bias. EVERY house has great girls as well as girls who the house would be better of without. Leave the popularity contests at high school and be prepared to get involved in whichever house you land.If you do, you'll have a great Greek experience.

I am so sad to have made it on this website. I do not care if a house is considered "top" or not. Why does it even matter? Some of the things that are said about houses are so rude and appalling. Yes, the website allows you to write things anonymously, but your true character shines through when nobody is looking. To each of you posting these things...you are giving Greek Life a HORRIBLE name. Thank you for that. Please consider being kind, gracious, and uplifting. We need to let the incoming Freshmen know what Greek Life truly stands for...sisterhood, community, scholarship, and leadership.

I was considering joining, but after finding this site...not so much. Kind of sad. As an older student (23), I guess I could be considering too old to join. But it is something I've always wanted to be a part of. Unfortunately, the individuals who have posted here have me re-thinking. I mean, I do not want to be involved in any organization as classless as they girls are coming off. Sounds like none of these sororities have any redeeming qualities what so ever. Anyone care to correct me if I?m wrong?

Why would any self-respecting girl want any part of this hate? People hide behind knowing they can say hateful and hurtful things because nobody knows who they are. Bullies and cowards, seriously. Saying horrible and hateful things about different houses subsequently brings everyone down.

the greek system is not respected on this campus. teachers and administrators see it as a cause of a lot of problems behind closed doors. every non greek student constantly mocks it. but these greeks are clueless to this fact bec they are in their own little shallow world.
