sorority comments

with the post a couple of posts down. I think what the poster person meant is that there are times when houses are in a friendly competition with other houses, but the way some people use this site to promote their own house while bashing on others is awful, and it doesn't do anything to promote Greek spirit.

All of the Sororities should be ashamed of how y'all are representing your school, & your chapter in here. So much negativity & hate! Why would anyone consider rushing at the UofA if they have to be apart of this drama filled lifestyle. Grow up, support one another, & most of all be classy.

If you are an out-of-state girl, here is what your perfect rush would look like(alphabetically, of course):
Day 1: All Houses
Day 2: DDD, KD, KKG, PBP, XO, ZTA
Day 3: DDD, KKG, PBP, XO
Pref/Bid Day: Choose which house(s) you have felt the most welcome at, and where you could see yourself! Those 4 are the top and you can't go wrong!

Sorry but it is undeniable that your "perfect rush" is an opinion and it changes for each person. I know plenty of girls that say they hated certain "top houses" during rush but loved the less-appreciated houses. So really, don't listen to these rankings.. KD and ZTA are two that are especially under-appreciated and they have some of the best girls on campus. So be open-minded and go with your gut. Most of all, keep in mind that you really will have to make friends and be happy there for four years..so to decide based off of someone else's opinion is just ridiculous. Give them all a chance, or you might regret it.

So unfortunately, you can?t judge a sorority based on someone else?s opinion of what their ?reputation? might be. Recruitment is the perfect opportunity to see for yourself by meeting the members. So close off your ears to any gossip you hear from others about the chapters on your campus. As a sorority member, you spend a lot of time with the sisters. Would you rather join the "popular" clique simply because it is regarded as popular this semester, or the one where you'll actually enjoy your college experience and make lifelong friends? Remember that sororities experience growth and change every year because new members come in and old members graduate. When you join a sorority, you shape its growth simply by being there and being you. So join the one where you can be most like yourself. You'll make stronger friendships and feel truly at home.

top houses are the ones that choose girls that they want. they don't have generic groups during rush that go around together and talk to the same girls. top houses have their top girls chosen out before rush...

houses other than chi o, tri delt, kappa and pi phi choose girls that they want during rush...that's the ENTIRE point of rush. don't listen to people that are that close-minded...
KD and Zeta both have a great rush. and they both go through girls and know exactly which ones they want to be in their house beforehand. and none of the houses get every single girl they want every single year. part of it is up to chance. that's the truth.

no house gets every girl they want...and not every girl gets the house they want...it all works out...and yes...ZTA gets some of the top girls every year-too! :)

The only real difference in any of these sorority girls is the letters they wear! Pledge a house, get involved, make lots of new friends, and be happy wherever you end up-it's all good!
