legacy/top house

If my sister is an in house member at a different chapter will I still get legacy consideration?
Also, what is the top house in grades?

You're a legacy! My sister is an active member at a different school, and they took that into consideration. Being a legacy isn't a definite bid though- you'll get a bid from the house that wants you the most and can see you as a part of their chapter. During rush, observe the girls around you on Pref day and see if you can imagine any of them as your future sisters! :)

At U of A if your sister is still in the house and is active. you will be fine. I’ve only heard of an in house active,s sister being cut a couple of times. It isn’t something top house actives, advisors and alum take lightly. They all have to be in complete agreement. Circumstances have to be extremely bad for them to make the decision to cut her. It’s just absolutely necessary at times.
