Is Arkansas open for sorority expansion? With quota being so high and chapter members up in the 400+ range, they need a new group. I think the school can handle 4 more groups and still have 100 quota each year.

How does one go about getting a new chapter to colonize or to recolonize on campus? We have record breaking recruitment numbers each year and with quotas going down for certain chapters but more girls going through, we need expansion. I would gladly help to colonize a new chapter on this campus.

The expansion process is very rigid. First, the Arkansas' panhellenic would need to decide to open up for expansion. They send this information to National NPC, who then alerts the 26 NPC sororities that Arkansas is open. Interested sororities then submit interest packets explaining why Arkansas should consider them. Arkansas selects 2-3 finalists in the process, who then come to campus and make a presentation. The local panhellenic then chooses one (or more) sororities to colonize on campus.

No national organization would want to colonize until they see that the University is committed to housing the new chapters already here. A sorority simply can't compete and be successful in the SEC without a house.
