In State Vs Texas schools sororities are missing out
by: InterloperIS ( in state) private school is a must due to Arkansas failing grade at public schools all over the state. TX in many cities for example Austin has two public schools that out test and out rank many private schools. Lake Travis for example is a Christian based public high school with a huge YL group This town is full of churches and kids who go every Sunday. They have a ton of money. They have a fishing team sailing team World of tennis, and 9 world class golf courses in this tiny little town . If a kid is going to private school in Austin it is because they were asked to leave. It’s not the same as Arkansas and Louisiana. Private schools are for the bad kids most of the time. So not choosing a Txn oos because they didn’t go to a private school is ridiculous. Lake Travis and Westlake have the highest amount of Make A Wish sponsors. Teams raise tons of money every year for philanthropies. The cheer team raised 178k in 3 weeks for cancer. The dance team has their own philanthropy and raised 100k for it in a few weeks. So if you drop these girls your sorority is missing out. I am someone who lives in Lakeway the Lake Travis district and Rogers Arkansas. Every team and fine arts department has a philanthropy they raise money for and this is not new to these girls. They raise serious money in a short amount of time. Hopefully you understand this now. Happy Greek Week

You really don't get it. It's not the fact of going to private school. It's about the connections, meaning already knowing each other.
Sororities that already have members from certain private schools are naturally going to want the pnm's that they already knew from their schools, and those pnm's are counting on going where their older friends are. And then those girls will get initiated and pull in the next year's, and so on and so on, and this has been going on for years and years.
It's not about the quality of the school or the education, it's about the already established social circles. Sororities are not honor societies, they are social clubs for women and they choose their friends first.
If your daughter is all that then she will do great in college and be an asset to any group no matter what her (social) letters are.
