low gpa & rushing

i spent half of hs hospitalized so that really effected my grades. my gpa is 3.3 and im just scared everyone will drop me. i need some reassurance

tbh, you will likely be released by the top and a couple mid houses unless you have connections.
keep an open mind.

Connections do not matter. They will release her. You can have several friends in the same sorority and they will not pick you unless you know someone on the recruitment team.

Not everyone is likely to drop you but your choices will be limited. Go through rush and see what happens. If you end up at pref and still aren't sure, don't sign your card and it's possible you could try for a cob, especially after fall and you get great grades.

Top houses do take a few grade risks if you have really good connections.
A 3.3 gpa is good, but you are competing with over 1000 pnms with 3.75-4.0's.

It will work out don't worry. Each house has a gpa cutoff that they have to stick to per nationals (although they can take a very few exceptions who are super close to the line, but connections won't help much in this case) and tbh the top houses have higher cutoffs, so yours is likely to get you cut early. But that's a good thing the problem is when houses string pnms along who they know they're going to cut before or at sisterhood. Also unlike the pnms with 4.0s you know already that it's nothing but your gpa that got you cut. It's not your resume or conversations or anything else. So don't worry there are several houses at uark who will be happy with a 3.3!

You can still get a great house! If you get dropped from some, just focus on the invites you received. It is process that almost always works.

roommate and I dropped both have 4.0's and were dropped from the top three houses. it is more than grades cutting you the first round.

The 'top three'are locked in for girls they already know. That doesn't mean those are the top girls. It's not a measure of quality, it's just a harder bid to get if you don't have the connections.

I can’t imagine a Little Rock girl dropping unless they were also dropped from TriDelt and Zeta. Both of those houses are still highly regarded in that region. Amongst alumni in the area KD and ADII have gained a lot of respect. The only people judging you for not making top 3 would be very shallow high school class mates who got in and they will get over it in time. I think you made a rash decision. You will have some time to think about it when you decide whether or not to COB/Spring rush.

Hey there - checking in on the OP….how many philanthropy parties did you have? Sounds like a lot of girls had fewer houses than they anticipated, so hoping you are still good!
