Confused by adpi

by:

It can’t just be my friends and I. How is it that adpi is not ranked in the bottom three on this site? Everyone I know had them in the bottom three! Very very weird girls. If my friends and I were to rank ( we just went through recruitment) it would look like this…
Chi o ( league of their own)
Pi phi/zeta
Tri Delt/Kappa
KD, Phi Mu, AXO
DG, ADPI, AOPI Idk how this site is so different than how we saw it i during recruitment

I had them in the bottom three as well. They kept coming back on my schedule. I did eventually get a girl I connected with. It’s all in who they paired you with

The girl that recruited me had the worst cigarette breath! I for sure was not someone they cared to impress.I had to keep convos going and it was actually torture sitting there. I would have gone to pref with one house before I sat through another one of their parties.

I’m sorry but there’s no way that happened. I’m not in ADPi but girls can’t go outside at all during recruitment and sure as hell can’t smoke in the house obviously.

I was a gamma chi this year and how PNMs feel about ADPi completely depends on what girl they pair you with. I’m not an ADPi but one of my friends is, and they recruit very strongly for the most part. Some girls don’t have good convos there because unlike many sororities, they let all of their girls recruit, even the “socially awkward” girls. Surprisingly the “top” houses have the most socially awkward girls because if they’re a legacy or have an alum pulling for them they have to get a bid. The difference is that those chapters don’t let their awkward girls recruit. Recruitment is such a manufactured environment and it’s hard to gauge what a house is actually like.

This is so true. The most awkward and weird girls I know are in Kappa, Chi O, and Pi Phi. It’s like they never experienced actual social interaction before college. Homeschooler vibes.

I am so proud of the people defending ADPI on here - they are a great sorority - everyone has a home meant for them -Everyone has a preference - I know outstanding girls in the ADPI house - Chio is not a league of their own - they lose alot of tops to other sororities and there are not 5 rows -

It really is all about who you’re paired with. During rush I was paired with a no match at PM and I cut them but after rush I was like I would have liked PM. Seriously there’s over 200 girls recruiting at these houses you will not always get the cream of the crop. Sometimes you’ll be stuck talking to those socially awkward or not your vibe type girls. Think about it they have to talk to someone. And they have to talk to someone, the best girls in each sorority are paired with girls they are heavily interested in and other girls get who is left which is not going to be your best recruiters. Hope this makes sense.

I agree with this. I was a PNM this year and I talked to amazing girls in Adpi. I chose a different house because I’m a legacy and that was really important to me, but I know I would’ve been happy there too. Honestly good for ADpi that you’re not in their house, you sound like a very mean person.

i was a gamma chi this year as well and none of my pnms had anything negative to say about adpi. obviously some preferred other houses but none of my pnms said they had bad convos there and they weren’t heavily cut by my group. i’d say that they competed mostly with alpha chi, kd, and phi mu this year. what pnms ended up choosing was pretty equal between these. this just shows that maybe your group of friends don’t vibe with a particular house, but that isn’t a good representation of a house as a whole. and no i’m not an adpi.

@Wendy and friends I’m not trying to be rude but you were most likely not high on the list of we need these girls in our sorority, if you had that bad of an experience. Because if you were being recruited, like they want you to choose them, you’d know. Otherwise it’s a stick them with whoever to talk to them and if they cut us they cut us, who cares type thing. There are just too many pnms to focus on, which is honestly a shame. You’ll see what I’m talking about when you’re recruiting.

You could say this about any house. Phi mu was in the bottom 3 for me and my friends and everyone else I knew, we thought the girls were fake and mean.

This is totally true about every house. I didn’t like a certain top sorority at all because I felt like the girl was plastic and fake. Some people like that.

Chi O is not in a league of their own. They lost many of their top pnms to zeta, pi phi, and kappa. This happens every year even though they'd never admit it.

Adpi is a great house! They are the most down to earth and genuine girls. I've never met one I didn't like.

No I totally agree with this! As someone who has been here for a minute, every adpi I knew has dropped and if they haven’t they complain about it 24/7. they do have some super sweet and gorgeous girls but recent years have made them fall slightly for sure.

All my chi o friends also hate their sorority. That really doesn’t prove anything about the chapter as a whole.

All the PC 23 girls I know in Chi O really hate it. They were so flattered because ChinO is such a big deal here and now they’re wishing they’d gone somewhere else.

completely agree with you. To add on, here’s my theory. there’s girls in every house who don’t like it, want to drop, etc. the difference is that in the top houses, girls who dropped are typically shunned, so that scares girls in those houses into staying. my friends who have dropped mid tier houses decided to drop because being in a sorority wasn’t for them and they knew that their friends in their sorority would still be friends with them after they dropped. Also, girls in top houses tend to not be the first person in their family to be in greek life, so their families are more supportive financially. if your parents are paying for it, why not stay just so you get the benefits of being an alum once you graduate? that’s just my take.
