Sorority recruitment video
by: fresh meatI have been told that the video that all PNM's are supposed to submit with the question "What are you passionate about?" Is NOT surface level. What I have heard is that the answer "travelling" or "baking" make immediate cuts, and that recruiters are looking for UNIQUE, bubbly, and fun answers. How can I create a video with a unique or fun answer? The reality is that I actually do like travelling or baking, but I don't want to LIE or blend in with the crowd. Any advice?

As someone who has had to review these videos I will say you CAN talk about baking/cooking or something simple! But why baking? Did your passion for baking come from a relative and bring your family together? Does it allow you to experience different cultures from the comfort of your kitchen? Your answers can be simple, just dig deep on the why. This is just an example. Recruiters just want to see that you’re passionate about something and see your values!

As someone who has watching thousands of videos.. here’s my advice
look your best! (show you put effort in)
have good lighting!!!!!!! being in a dark room or bad lighting just shows you don’t care
good posture
smile!!!
this is your chance to show a little bit of who you are (on steroids)
if you love baking, traveling, or the classic “helping people” just give examples that are personal and unique to you. You can show us something you have baked or what made you start to love it, for traveling show a pic of your fav place and why, for helping people explain exactly what you mean. Don’t just stop at the basic answer, make it personal!!!

Chi o has their pledge class picked out for the most part so they won’t spend much time on the videos. Kappas are just lazy ( look at their bid days and functions) so they may not watch many either but other than those two houses your videos will get watched and are important! I am in a mid house and I will say these are probably more important than your resume.
