First round truths

by:

If the first round is based on houses looking at pnms' videos and applications (if they even look at the resumes), how are pnms supposed to try to make any connections for first impressions? It seems like an uphill battle for pnms who don't know anyone.

If a house doesn’t want you then you don’t want that house. If they don’t think you fit then why push it

Lots of girls without connections got in good houses (like zeta, pi phi, tri delt, KD, etc) last year. Lots of girls with connections and legacies got cut from “mid” and “top” houses last year too. If you don’t have a super high gpa, expect to get cut first round. But that means lots of amazing girls with mid 3 point gpas end up in not “top” or “mid” houses. Your GPA is the most important. Houses will take grade risks for super close connections, but you can also get dirty rushed and dropped counting on that. So just go in and try to find your next people, not just the people you already know.

My experience too. OOS with 4+ Gpa etc.
BUT now that I’m on the other side and not in the stress of it I see how it works out the right way. Being OOS if I’d gotten in to a connections sorority I’d prob have dropped by now
