First round truths
by: 2023
If the first round is based on houses looking at pnms' videos and applications (if they even look at the resumes), how are pnms supposed to try to make any connections for first impressions? It seems like an uphill battle for pnms who don't know anyone.

Quit lying to these PNMs!!! To keep the truth hidden from them is just wrong!
I so wish I had been told about all the unfair stuff that happens in March and April my senior year in HS!
Those that are telling PNMs to get off this “toxic” site are just nervous as heck because the truth is out!
Inviting girls to spend the night in the house and take them out for the weekend is not cool.

I'm scared to even go through recruitment right now. There are some girls that went to my high school in houses at Arkansas but I wouldn't say we are friends. They don't follow me on social media.
My roommates and I are really nervous to go through recruitment. It already seems like the odds are against us.

Watch out PNMs! ZTA and DDD are working overtime to follow girls on the socials. Don’t be flattered. They are fooling you! Stella with DDD followed tons of girls this years, and she is at this year again. Just remember- the follows, dms, etc on socials mean nothing. They are just trying to get you to rank them high during recruitment. Just posting this trying to make the game of recruitment a little fairer on both sides.

I would recommend that you start doing your own research on houses. Look at their social media accounts, look at their chapter performance, look at their philanthropies. Maybe those things will give you a better idea of what each house is about, but remember that all houses essentially do the same thing. There is not a particular house that is above another.

All houses look for well rounded girls! Girls who were involved in clubs, good GPA, volunteering, sports, etc. however, some houses might put more emphasis on those qualities than others.
For example, Pi Phi and Chi O tend to heavily look at grades. Staying top in grades for them is becoming a priority. For all the houses if your high school GPA falls under their set minimum, you will automatically be cut or fall to the bottom of their list. Tri Delt on the other hand looks for girls that are super involved. A lot of Tri Delt girls are involved on campus with many of them going on to be homecoming queens and student body presidents.
I’m not saying that connections don’t help but if you have a great resume and a fun video, I promise you’ll leave an impression.

Yes, there is a lot of toxicity and misinformation here, but there are also some truths. Honestly, I wish I had known some of it before going through recruitment.
Truth: recruitment can be difficult for oos girls with no connections, even if you have an awesome resume, perfect GPA, and are super cute and sweet.
Truth: Actives often flood girls with follows and dm’s on social media. This means nothing. They will unfollow you as soon as recruitment is over. I agree with others on this site. They seem to follow to ensure pnms rank them higher.
Truth: Connections are key in Arkansas recruitment. Just look at insta on bid day. You will see girls posting pics with captions like- clean sweep Rogers, we rushed Bentonville, clean sweep Dallas. Again, if an active follows you on social media, and you don’t know her. She could probably care less about you. Just watch her bid day insta post. She has been pulling for her home town girls all along.
