For PNMs to think about

Go where you feel good. Top doesn’t mean best. Tops here might be lowest in other schools. You’re here for four years. Get in a sorority where you like the sisterhood and truly want to be friends with them. Once these four years are up and you graduate it’s not going to matter what sorority you were in. Saying you were in a certain sorority is going to mean different things to people at different schools.
Example
At Vanderbilt XO is low
At TCU DG is top
Phi Mu is the top at Alabama
UNC Kappa and PiPhis are the very bottom
ADPi is top at Georgia
Ignore the ranks and all this bs and really try to pay attention to how the houses make you feel.

They do think for themselves. A lot more than this site gives them credit for. I know a chi o gamma chi very well and she admitted being surprised by how many girls ranked chi o low. Not that may or may not have been cut by chi o anyway but she was shocked at how most girls did not follow the rankings on this site.

Chi o and kappa get ranked low by a huge amount of pnm’s. The reason they don’t think this is because Panhellenic gives them a huge cut number the first night so they never actually see how many girls rank them bottom. Ask any chi o or kappa gamma chi. They are always surprised by the actual rankings by the pnm’s. I was a gamma chi the past two years. Not saying they don’t do better than a lot of houses but these sororities would be surprised if they saw how my girls ranked. Two years ago pi phi in my group was the “number one” desired house and last year it was zeta. Tri Delt actually does do better than the rest of the mids and phi mu is another pretty desired house during recruitment.

I am questioning your statement that you were a gamma chi. If that was true, you would understand how recruitment works. Panhellenic gives cut numbers based on how the pnms rank the houses. The top houses (kappa, chi o and pi phi) have over 99% returns. This means that almost all of the 600 they can invite back for round two want them as well. It does not matter if pnms rank them low if these houses didn't have them on their top list.
(btw, tri delt and kd have the same return numbers. phi mu did better this last recruitment and is close to adpi returns. they could rise over adpi next fall.)

This is so true. If your whole world is going to be Fayetteville Arkansas then go for it, but after four years you will be with a mix of people who don’t Cate what sorority your were in and won’t be impressed with your accomplishment of being in a top house. Your top might be their very bottom.
