Not really feeling it

by: NM

Any other NMs not feeling like a part of their sorority? Seems like girls already have friend groups and it’s hard to get to know people. Didn’t expect to be instant best friends with people, but it sure seems like everyone else had that experience but me

Everyone was so nice and welcoming when they wanted me to join but ow I feel left on my own and everyone else already has their groups. It really sucks.

Any advice? Going to all the things and trying to meet new people but they all seem to already have their friends. No one is mean but not really welcoming either.

it’s not just you. everyone is trying to find their people and navigate the new normal. it’s only october. may take more time than you thought but your people are out there.

You can continue your friendships with your friends in different chapters and non- Greeks. Take it easy and enjoy the friends you do have. It takes awhile.

I get what you’re saying, but I’m OOS and knew no one before I got here.

It’s just difficult but from other comments I’m feeling less like it’s just me.

This is a very normal feeling! My advice is to do whatever it takes to move into your house next year. That is where my friendships really happened and I love my sisters that I never thought I would mesh with freshman year.

I wish there were more mixer type things to get to know our pledge groups. They’re just so big and I don’t know anyone and it’s hard and lots of girls are already sitting together at cff or whatever and it’s hard to break in. If we could have more stuff where we had to meet other new members like be assigned to someone new every meeting or something.

Hi! Tell the active in charge of your pledge class! That’s a great idea and am going to pass it along to ours!

It seems so great for so many people. I wish there was a way to have to get to know other girls in pc. I feel awkward because everyone already seems to view friends with each other and I’m just line hanging out on the edge

I feel this exact way. I’ve met barely any girls in my pc and house in general. I dread going to chapter every week because I sit alone. Everyone has their group and I’m just here. It’s heartbreaking

How is it going for everyone that wasn’t feeling it yet? It’s still hard for me.

I’m so sorry to hear about this, it is so important to choose the right fit sorority for yourself. Stick it out it’s bound to get better. ❤️
