Tiers no longer matter
by: SR gamma chiI am a senior and was a gamma chi this year. I gotta’ say that I was very surprised by some of my girls’ rankings this year. Older alums of top tier sororities won’t like what I have to say. My girls really focused on the video and the actual girls in the houses. Seven of them put top tier sororities as their last 2-3 choices before Philanthropy Round. Certain sororities’ focus through the years on only Arkansas girls is coming back to bite them. There are so many out of state girls now, and they are aware of how cliquey those sororities can be. The tiers meant nothing to many of the PNMs this year. This is a good thing! Maybe now other sororities will consider colonizing here if they know that their house won’t be considered bottom every year just because they are the newest.

Yes, top houses might cut them and not know they were mutually cut but the point is PNMs have figured out the mean girls. My roommate and I both cut top houses before philanthropy.

True! PNMs don’t necessarily really get to decide to go where they feel comfortable.
