by: upsetPNMs, I know you are reeling from the cuts you received, are feeling hurt, baffled, and betrayed, and wondering how you can keep doing this. You wonder what went wrong at the houses where you had great conversations and really felt a connection. I am here to tell you that there are actives that you talked to in these houses right now who are feeling the same way. They loved you, they spoke up for you, they wanted you to be their sister and knew you belonged, but it didn't happen. They are hurt and sad and feeling betrayed by their sisterhood, and wondering how they can keep rushing other girls when they feel like this. They don't understand what went wrong either. Please know that you did nothing wrong, that you were admired and wanted, and that you were not simply dismissed and deemed unworthy. Everyone will get through this and settle into new friendships and have lots of fun this semester even though it's hard to see that now. I promise it will all be fine. You are going to be great.

Not all houses do snap bids, and even when they do you’d have to know someone high up. They’re hard to get

No- not likely at all! Focus on the houses on your list. The person that wrote this post is right- you will settle into new friendships and have a great year - all of the houses are fun and you can find great friends in all the houses. There are many different girls in each house and you will find your group of friends! Hang in there- good times are coming!

COB/open recruitment depends on who falls under Total...a number that will be set by Panhellenic on/after Bid Day. You won't know who will have spots until after Bid Day. It could be several, just a few houses, or none.

A house that drops a pnm is not going to turn around and offer a snap bid. With that said, understand that it is the girls who are rushing with you right now that are going to make or break your sorority experience for the next 4 years. This is your new member class, the group you will bond with and find your small group of very closest friends. Look at these girls, keeping in mind that some of them could be the best thing to ever come into your life. Your letters don't matter but the people do!
