Yes, your gamma chi submits your rankings. Don’t worry about how you rank out of fear of hurting her feelings. They are all prepared for this and understand - sometimes you just don’t vibe and that’s okay. Stay true to yourself. Just be positive and don’t speak negatively about any house!

They sure do. I felt pressured to discuss the houses with my gamma chi last year and I didn’t like it. Thankfully I had found out what house she was in. I wasn’t going to speak negative about any house but I knew the house I wanted all week wasn’t liked on campus ( thanks to this site) and I could tell she didn’t like me ranking them first every night. I wish they were not allowed to see how we rank or talk to us about the different houses.

This is an unpopular opinion but DONT share opinions with your Gamma Chi. Yes, you will have to tell her your house ranks and she can draw her own conclusions but you do NOT have to provide reasons why you ranked each house where. I’m my opinion, gamma chi’s are not as good at keep things quiet as they claim they are. Just rank and move on. I promise you don’t need their opinion to help you select a house. They don’t know you better than you know you. If you like a house and they don’t, who cares? If you don’t like their house, who cares? Recruitment is about YOU not offending or pleasing your Gamma Chi’s.

Here is how it will hurt a pnm! If a pnm has several houses she really likes but always ranks the gammas house third and the gamma tells that house than guess what? They will cut her! Now go into pref and one of her top two cut her. She now has a random house and a fav. The favorite sorority doesn’t rank her high enough and she ends up in a house she ranked much much lower all week because now her gamma took option three away from her!
