What’s standards?

What does it mean to be taken to standards?
What kind of stuff do you have to do to be taken to standards?
I saw on TikTok that a girl was fined for having wet hair in the house?

Every chapter has rules for their members. When you join a sorority you are part of ensuring your sorority's continuing good name and reputation. Every chapter has a standards board that deals with rule breaking and censuring members that flaunt the rules. Sometimes you just go and talk with them about whatever it is, sometimes you get talked to, sometimes fined if it's more serious, worst case kicked out for something really bad. Wet hair in the house sounds kind of suspect unless it was during a certain function or event, so take that with a grain of salt, but wet hair and not looking your best is a no-no for some chapters, or at least a no-no to wear your letters when you are looking unkempt. You always represent your sorority at all times. If you enjoy being part of a sorority with a good reputation it's because of their rules. You have to do your part.
