Letters of Rec?

How important are letters of recommendation actually? Does it increase my chances at all? I’ve heard multiple people on this site and in person tell me that they honestly don’t matter but I’ve just been so stressed out about rush week so I’m curious to know.
Here’s how my letters of rec go since I only accumulated 4 total
sorority A - 2 letters
sorority B - 1 letter
sorority C - 1 letter
Do these letters of rec truly matter?
And yes, I understand attitude, open-mind was, and conversations play a role but again, just curious on how effective a letter would be on increasing chances.

IDK if it’s too late to send them, it’s probably not, but the way a lot of people get recs is by writing a nice post on Facebook and listing all the chapters you need recs for. It’s especially helpful if your mom can post because she may have friends who are alum and she doesn’t even know it, or maybe her friends share it and someone else sees it and helps you. PLEASE don’t join Facebook groups like UofA Girls Sell Your Stuff and ask for them there, though.
