Think of it this way…it’s the “old guard”, or “old money.” The longer the sorority has been here, the more alums they have. So they fight for their daughters and granddaughters….which makes it harder for a new person without Arkansas ties to break through.
The harder the sorority is to get a bid from makes it seem like a top one to get into.
Chi O is considered a top one here, but it was founded here so there are so many women deep in the chi o roots.
That doesn’t mean they are top quality girls though. Don’t think that. It only means they have only chi o’s in their family.
And I might add that DG does have sweet, good girls, but the main reason they stay at the bottom is because they can’t afford to be selective on who they pick.
So it is a turn off for a girl. Nobody desires to be in a sorority known for not having standards. I realize that will get people mad, but it’s true.
