Chi o and Kappa are not the only top houses. In fact I would say MOST pnm’s rank zeta and pi phi higher during the week. Pi phi and zeta also don’t just fill their pledge classes with friends and who the alums tell them to take so no the top houses should not just be written off of a pnm does not know anyone. My roommate is a chi o and she didn’t have any connections!

That is SO not true. I am in one of those houses and there are girls without connections I helped get in during recruitment.

There IS a round one. The videos the pnm's submit and the chapter ones the pnm's watch are now round one. The video component came into play out of necessity during the pandemic and it turned out to be more efficient than having hoards of girls go to all the houses for a very brief, cursory look that did no good for either sororities or pnm's. The grade risks and QR's have always been identified before round one, as have every house's tops, and the RFM numbers have been set already as well. It has absolutely nothing to do with any chapters having their bid lists set prior to actual recruitment because that simply DOES NOT happen. The pool of pnm's is a bell curve: on the left are the ones more likely to get cut, on the right are the more likely to be asked back, and in the very large middle portion is everyone else who decisions have to be made about DURING RECRUITMENT WEEK. The bell curve for each house has different criteria depending on what that house looks for and the pool of pnm's in it gets refined over the week, but that large as-yet undetermined group in the middle exists for every single house until the pref lists are made.

You’re telling me Chi Omega doesn’t hold up a list of names on the first day of work week and say “if a girl’s name isn’t on this list, then they will not get a bid from us.”

I can only speak on Chi Omega because I know for a fact that happened.

100 percent kappa does nothing during recruitment. They get a list of girls and sprinkle a few more in during the week but the lack of effort they put in during work week and recruitment week is astonishing. I was a gamma chi last year and I know what I am talking about. I also know they did not get all the girls they wanted and overall was ranked low by a huge amount of pnm’s.

Also where girls come here and try to make others think we are lying.
The truth is very, very few girls from the “outside” get into Kappa or Chi O.

I’ve known so many girls who would actually help both of those chapters if they would just take a chance on girls they don’t know. Just based on their resume (and looks) would help improve their chapters as a whole, but they only stick with girls they know year after year.

Before you start the whole “awww must have gotten cut” talk. Yes, I did…but I absolutely wanted my house from the summer I started researching the different sororities, and I still love my house.

Your story is hundreds of other girls stories as well! This site tries to make chi o and kappa seem so exclusive that surely every pnm wants those two chapters. So false! I was completely unimpressed with both when I went through recruitment and went far with both houses. If handed a bid on a silver platter I would have rejected. I have been on campus for a year and know a thousand percent that kappa would be one of the last houses I would want to be in. Chi o is “fine”. I do appreciate their history being founded at uark and the girls I know are sweet.
