Competing houses?

Regardless of these past threads very few houses are actually competing with each other in the so called “top four”. They get in their friends and family and take a few rush crushes. Yes you will hear about it if they steal tops ( like pi phi taking kappas) but they all can lose a few to each other. Again this is a tiny amount of girls. Most have one top on pref and another house. Where houses start to compete is KD, Tri delt, ADPI, AXO Ect…. They actually show up for recruitment and rush. These houses are competing with each other and are trying to get the best girls for their houses. This site tries to make it seem like everyone thinks chi o is number one, kappa two, and on down. Nope it’s tiers. And on campus it’s really not thought of

This is somewhat true. In fact being on the list of a top house for whatever reason family, friend, legacy ( but not as much anymore) ect… can get you immediately cut from other houses. There are way too many girls going through recruitment and not enough houses for the top four to have to compete with each other. It is not difficult for them to figure out where a pnm is probably going to pledge. Very few in house sisters have a good rush. If you have friends in multiple houses or connections that’s great but before pref it’s easy to get cut by one because somehow things get out where your leaning. So pnm’s be careful who you talk to during recruitment week.

Only one girl in my group liked kappa. In fact several of us were vocal about not liking them. I don’t know how the numbers were but yes my friends and I knew of the top four and they were lumped together so I believe it’s just a matter of preference. Many other houses were equally as awesome and the pnm’s will see that. You will probably be shocked during recruitment like I was! Pretty, fun, friendly girls in every house!

this is 100 percent correct! girls in my group looked at the top four as somewhat equal. just just because chi o cut harder didn’t mean pnm’s for sure liked them better than the other three. same thing with the mid level houses in that some girls preferred tri delt, kd , adpi, phi mu, axo, aopi. the sad truth was dg usually wasn’t talked about that much but maybe that will change this year. girls liked the houses where they were made to feel extra special by the girl or girls rushing them.this site makes it seem like no one would adpi over chi o for example and that is simply not true!we are not all sheep!some girls are all about the ranks but not most.

Except during recruitment.I have friends in other top houses but i would not say we support each other during recruitment. It is stupid though because I agree with the original post. And even if we take the same couple of girls to pref most likely they are at the top of the list for one house and at the bottom for another.

that was me! you think walking into certain houses the girls will stand out as different from somehow from the other houses.maybe in other colleges the top houses do but no. i believe if you were blind folded walking into the houses zero chance you will be able to tell the “top” house girls from any other girls. most girls in my group had a connection in one top house but not more than one so i agree they don’t really have to fight each other to get their girls or work very hard to impress pnm’s. that being said there are plenty of awesome girls i know that are in top houses. its just matter of luck if you have a connection i guess but no matter what plenty of great options here!
