Actives not reaching out??
by: PNMWhen do actives normally start reaching out? I’ve tried to follow girls with similars interests and vibes as me from every house and some of them follow me back, but none of them have tried talking to me. Is that bad?

I don’t think Greek life has said whether or not actives are supposed to be contacting PNMs yet. They may or they may not. If Greek life says no contact you definitely won’t hear from anyone after spring break. You can always DM actives and express your interest and ask about their house! Make sure to follow ALL chapters

No, I wouldn’t worry about it. Everything is just getting started with recruitment, if Greek life says actives can talk to PNMs I would expect some engagement closer to april and especially in the summer. But girls don’t mind if you message them first too!

It is rare an active will reach out FIRST. A follow back is nice and if they take the time to answer your dm that’s also nice. Extremely rare though that they will just randomly reach out to a pnm they don’t know. On occasion they may reach out to a girl they know from high school ect..and ask if they have any questions about uark/recruitment but again even that is rare

My friend (she’s an active at a small school in texas) told me that if active hasn’t reached out that they aren’t interested. It’s probably like that at a small school, but not here. Thanks for clearing that up!

This isn’t true, at least from last year. Actives were encouraged to message girls first because Greek life didn’t know if people would rush with the pandemic. But I agree, when I rushed in 2018 no actives were reaching out. Different now though

I'm in pc21 and didn't have more than maybe a couple of actives reach out to me last spring. I had 2 top houses at pref so I don't think it was due to houses not being interested. so I wouldn't take this as a big deal at all
