Thoughts on a new chapter
by: Me!With such huge pledge classes this year, we really need a new chapter, but I just don’t think AGD is a good fit for uark? I think we need a really strong sorority, maybe Theta or even GPhi? Someone who can deal with the fact that they’re not going to be the favorite for a while but has enough backing to eventually grow into a great chapter. Just feeling for all the new members with huge pledge classes where it’ll be hard to get to know each other or feel heard

Huh? It would help DG and then what would be the good of Theta coming? So people can hate on them?

My understanding is that many chapters struggled during that time span. Recruitment has changed since then.

When every house is hitting quota consistently without having to snap or cob too much and chapter totals are deemed too high, then another sorority can be invited to colonize. But the invitation would have go out to all NPC sororities, and those that are interested would apply and a narrowed list would be selected by panhellenic to present in person.

Wish they would. We need more than 11 houses here. Bragging rights of having biggest chapters is dumb.

Alpha Gam sucks. Only school I know of them being decent is Alabama, & that’s only because they are considered Old Row.

Alpha Gam is top at Auburn too. Maybe same reason as Bama? They are a solid sorority up north. Only know that bc of friends, but yeah …it’d be tough sell for Texas girls for sure.

Idk APhi's rep over the last few years has been pretty bad and they're now just considered the sorority for girls who want clout or are party girls - especially after the whole "recruitment" scandal and the recent power trip scandal.

I agree with Mmh. But I will say I think they would actually do well here, just not sure the quality of its would be good. But I think some girls actually would be pretty excited about a phi. If that makes sense

Aphi's in the SEC might be mid tier, but they are top in almost the entire rest of the country. I'm OOS and they are hugely popular where I come from. Their rep doesn't appear to have been hurt in the least. We're getting a lot of OOS girls who don't want to be in houses full of Arkansas girls, and I think OOS PNMS would go for them.
Whether they wanna jump in is another question though. The SEC, with their traditional houses isn't easy for any house to break into.
