Percentage of bids
by: AskingHow many girls that go through rush here don’t get a bid? No guesses please. And no “every girl and every house works out blahblahblah.” cuz that isn’t answer. There are real stats are out there, let’s see them.

From bid day today:
1981 signed up for recruitment
1950 actually started the week
1805 got bids this morning
93% of the girls that started the week got bids.
I would imagine the vast majority of the 7% that didn’t get bids, dropped out sometime during the week because the didn’t want the houses they had left on their schedule.

If a girl attends a pref party, she is somewhere on that sorority's bid list. If she only is invited to one party, writes that sorority on her MRABA and signs it, she will get a bid from that sorority because she has maximized her options (she attended the parties she had all week and she she listed her only pref choice). If she has two parties to attend for pref, and she lists both in the order of her preference on her MRABA, she will receive a bid, although it might not be her first choice, should they fill to quota before her name comes up on their bid list. If she attended two pref parties, but only lists one of the sororities on her MRABA, then she runs the risk of not getting a bid if her chosen sorority fills to quota. She would be eligible for snap bids or COB.
So if you friends attended two pref parties and wrote both down on their MRABAs, then they would have received a bid. If they all only had one pref party and they all wrote that choice on their MRABAs, then they would have gotten a bid. If they got all prissy and decided that they would write down only one of the two sororities they attended for pref, they might not have received a bid. That's how it works.
