Percentage of bids

by:

How many girls that go through rush here don’t get a bid? No guesses please. And no “every girl and every house works out blahblahblah.” cuz that isn’t answer. There are real stats are out there, let’s see them.

I think girls drop. That’s their choice. SUPER rare to get no bid if open to all houses

By: Hmm
by: Asking

Ok that is not true. Do you actually think that all of us don’t know anyone that went through rush Arkansas. Please be real because we DO know differently. A lot of my h.s. friends that went through last year that had good grades, great reputations, jocks, super cute and a few got NO bids. Then 2 got snap bids from good houses that cut them early. Besides what explanation do you have for the pnms that get cut from everyone - telling them that they are part of the “SUPER rare” is mean.

I am still waiting for stats…..

The Panhellenic look book literally gives you the stats. Last year 93% “retention rate”

@stats - retention rate is not what I am asking about.

Sorry not buying what your high school friends are telling you. First of all, to get dropped from ALL houses would not be someone that has everything you described. Maybe someone that awful grades and a bad rep but even that is rare. It’s not mean it’s factual. Secondly, if a good house gives them a bid it’s not going to be from a house who cut them early. Maybe if they barely didn’t make the cut off to come back for sisterhood or pref but not someone cut early. The 93 percent of people who gets bids is accurate. But the truth is most of that 7 percent who didn’t get a bid are girls who quit because they thought they were too good for certain houses.

So you are saying my friends lied to me? No, they didn’t. One is a Tri Delt and the other KD, class of 2024. I thought retention rate was those who pledged and stayed. Not those who dropped out before pledging. Explain

@asking retention rate is who got bids. It’s just a nicer way of saying it.

That’s not true I have great grades, no one knows me cause I’m out of state but even then I don’t have a bad rep, I have a great personality and good looks and was dropped by almost all the houses.

If you still have some houses I do not see a problem. So some of the houses didn't invite you back. The houses that did saw something special in you and want you. That is awesome. All pnms will have 1 or 2 house for pref. You can only go home to 1 house so who cares how you got to that 1.

Lets be honest the houses at UARK have 400+ girls and your pledge class will more in likely have 140+ if you cant find you type of girl in that mix then you might need to look at yourself.

Ask Panhellenic. The Greek office should be able to give those stats.

Average placement over the last 3 years 92% to 93%.

So we know 1891 Girls registered for rush. Now that number might change for who showed up the first day of rush.
So let’s just take 1891 and worst case let’s just say 10% don’t make it because that’s easy math that’s 189 girls that don’t get placed on bid day.

Thank you

Yes but MOST of those girls with no bid did not utilize all their options. Period.

But 10% is hardly “SUPER rare”. Not even rare. About 189 girls each year are told no house works for them, despite being told the exact opposite at the beginning of rush. Why the lie? And I read here many times that you must have a bad reputation or bad grades to not get a bid. But the supposed top XO takes all grades, all reps (killers included) as long as she is a legacy. It doesn’t make sense.

First of all it’s usually around 7% that don’t get a bid. And a big chunk of that percentage are girls that drop because they only have one or two houses left that they decided they don’t want.

189 girls do NOT get released from all houses.

Most of the girls who withdraw do not like the options in front of them.

No chi o won’t take all grades, all rep. Their alums wouldn’t allow that even if a legacy. Yes have they taken some questionable girls? For sure. But majority of girls have good grades with a good rep just like all the other houses. I am sorry you have obviously not had the rush you expected . I am guessing that based on your emotion over this issue. I don’t think anyone here is lying to you about the percentages. And I suppose your telling the truth about your friends but it’s difficult to imagine that both Tri delt and KD had to go all the way back to girls they cut early to fill quota last year as both are good houses like you said. Hopefully come bid day you will be happy. Best of luck!

Chi O cut a girl in my group who was a legacy. She had over a 4.0, high act score, great rep. They also kept other girls on our floor who have nowhere near the resume she did. It’s hard to understand why some girls are released and others aren’t.

I understand how crazy this whole process is. Legacies each year carry less and less weight. That system just doesn’t work anymore when you have more legacies go through than the entire number in your pledge class. That happened to pi phi a couple of years ago. Obviously if they kept every legacy there would not have been room for anyone else. I believe you will find out that the girls in your group that get a bid from chi o had a connection. That carries more weight than someone’s resume ( unless your a grade risk). This is why I hope all girls no matter where they end up realize there really are GREAT girls in all houses!

If you make it to Pref and write down ALL houses that you visited that day, you are guaranteed a Bid. Many end up without one because they only write down one house when they went to two. Others who end up without a house release themselves during the week because they don't like their schedule and quit. If you stick with it, it WORKS...but you have to be willing to go forward with houses that may not be "top".

Not a thing. Watched my roommate - Homecoming queen, honors student, almost boringly pure roommate go through this last year. She is from New England and we still keep hearing that is why. I’m a in-house legacy who didn't care so much until that happened. The system does NOT work 100%

Man- in house legacies should not be cut. They just shouldn’t. I’m so sorry. Ask your family— they should know.
Wishing you the best.

The majority of those who didn't get a bid dropped out on their own; some feel overwhelmed, some had their heart set on one or two particular houses and when those didn't show back up on their list they dropped because they weren't willing to give any other other houses a chance, some only signed up so they could move in early, some were dropped by houses because they were a grade risk or standards risk. Grades and standards risk are real but it applies to very few pnms.

UArk Panhellenic has had a 92/93/94 percent bid placement for like 5 years now. Parice proudly announces it during the Bid Day ceremony that is live streamed every year because it is a HUGE deal to have this rate. She has even said that it is the highest percentage the SEC & the country a few times on those videos.

The vast majority of those 6-8% that don't get bids are the girls that drop out or intentional single pref. Sorry that there are no hard numbers out there to prove it, so this is just a guess....I'd put it at less than 25% of the girls who are not placed with a bid are released by all 11 sororities or this year that might equal 35-40 PNMs.

And yes it sucks for them and me! I know how much it hurts because I had issues out of my control, started recruitment, got cut from a lot & couldn't finish freshman year. Waited an entire year to go through again....I grew, came back & got my top house. You can be bitter & salty or learn & grow.

If you are asking if some girls get dropped from all the houses then yes. Yes, some girls do get dropped. At 7% this year it would be 132 girls. More then half drop for reasons known only to them. So 66 girls out of 1891 this could even be a smaller number. It is rare that it happens but to me this is what COB is for those that might have fallen through cracks, not some salty pnm that thinks they are better then the rest and to good for the houses that did invite them back.

If you got your house then you must be an active, no? You should be quite familiar with the process by now and you have inside sources to ask your questions directly. Why ask on here, unless you aren’t what you claim…

“To good” if a one gets an invite back and they decide to drop out then Yes I feel that they thank they are better then those girls. Get real over 400 girls in a chapter 150 in your pledge class. If you can’t find your tribe then you need to really look at yourself first.

By: Yes
by: Asking

Whaaa…? Was that supposed to make sense? I heard y’all drink during rush week but damn girl. Check yourself. You misread my posts. I am just exactly where I want to be. The point I made is because I have friends who were anxious, and now a couple that are broken-hearted. These girls that are WAY nicer, accepting, sophisticated, and definitely more articulate than you. What house does your nastiness represent?

My heart goes out to those pnms that got NO invites back. That is who should be looked at first when and if COB is needed.
It's the other group that need to take a look at themselves. We have 11 fabulous houses all with a wide range of girls in them.
