Advice for Phi Mu

by:

Since we are asking for advice for pref round— I’m personally interesting in phi mu but have only heard bad things. I’ve only had good experiences while I’m there and can be myself, BUT it’s hard to tell if a girl is being fake to you or not. You only truly know a house when you’re finally in it and then it may be too late. I’ve heard phi mu are all a bunch of mean girls with absolutely no diversity. I’ve been told if I want to pay to get bullied I should go phi mu. What do you guys know about phi mu on campus? Why or why not shouldn’t I rush it?

Honestly I have friends in phi mu and I hear them complain all the time about the drama and how almost all of the girls basically use phi mu as a social standing and for partying. Recruitment is hard but you have to follow your heart. You may or may not be happy with phi mu if you rush but you are always able to drop before initiation then spring rush for a COB. And to add on to the diversity part.. you are correct, it’s all blonde white girls. I hope you have an amazing rush experience

You must be a mom hating on Phi Mu!!!!

You are so wrong about Phi Mu.

You are also wrong about "you can drop before initiation and then spring rush for a COB" NO, No, No this is not allowed at UARK if you except a bid and then drop you are not eligible until next fall.

Full of LIES.

With the crazy good pnm group this year, you will find sweet fellow pledges! No worries! Each house has had a few hiccups here and there….. if you love it- then good! Houses are competitive- that’s all. Don’t let Greek rank ruin your experience. There is more unity than what gr says.

I have a lot of friends in Phi Mu and they love it!! A good mix of girls from all over.. not a repeat of high school. They also said they are comfortable being themselves. If you’re heart tells you this is the right place then go with it! There are good and bad girls in EVERY house! If you read this thread for 5 minutes you will realize that. Fake mean girls are everywhere…not just one particular house.

I’m in a top house & my best friend from high school is a phi mu. She absolutely loves it and has found so many great friends. I honestly enjoy hanging out with her friends more than I enjoy hanging out with girls in my PC. If you like phi mu, go phi mu! Do NOT listen to this site.

Very confused. There is clearly a lot of jealousy with Greek rank and phi mu???? Phi mu is one of the prettiest houses on maple and you can’t disagree. The girls in here represent love honor truth, and know how to recruit.

Lots of hate towards Phi Mu. It is a great house with involved girls who have pride In their sorority.

I had Phi Mu on pref last year and my girl was acting so fake towards me it hurt, but yet I was still interested in them because they are so popular amongst boys. On pref night I had to ask myself want I wanted out of a sorority. Thankfully I made the right decision and picked the WOMEN IN THE HOUSE over reputation. What really solidified my decision was when Phi Mu came to our house during work week for a mock philanthropy round party and they treated us so so terribly. Girls were extremely rude and showed no interest in being here

My friend from Pennsylvania is in Phi Mu and she’s told me she has never felt welcomed there. She wishes she dropped before initiation because now she’s stuck there :(
