by: 🤍PNMs: it all starts today. I know the emotions are all over the place - anxious, excited, scared, etc. It’s been said before but please go in with an open mind. Every house has something to offer. Every house has girls that can and will be your people! Don’t focus on certain houses. Give each house an honest chance. Trust me, you will be pleasantly surprised. There will be disappointment in the coming week; it’s inevitable, but at the end there can only be one house when you open your envelope on bid day. Look at each house with fresh eyes each round. Trust YOUR gut. Don’t listen to your friends or any of the outside noise. The only way you will truly be happy is if you allow yourself to follow your heart and choose the house where you feel comfortable and where you fit. We’ve worked hard this week to make this an enjoyable experience for each of you. We’re so excited to meet you!! Good luck - keep that open heart and open mind and you’ll have a great week! Great message! Please remember it’s not you! First round last year I REALLY clicked with this Zeta. She was so sweet and complimentary and I just knew I was getting an invite back. She even said something like “I can’t wait to talk to you again” which now I know she probably should not have. I was devastated when I didn’t get an invite back for the second round. The first day of school I walk into my science class and there she was. She immediately walked up to me and told me she was so happy for me because she had friends in ADPI and knew I would love it ( which I do!) . She also explained that although she did try my name was already on the cut list and there was nothing she could do. My point is…. of all the nights to be nervous this isn’t one of them. You will talk to sweet girls that will genuinely like you and MOST of you will get cut from atleast one of the top four houses. It’s OK! All cuts hurt but this one shouldn’t. When you don’t make it through first round it’s not you. You were cut before they met you! All houses have great girls and you will find your people!

To Hmm…. Correction it was two years when I went through. Last year I knew to not lead people on like that. In her defense she is a super sweet person and I think it probably just flew out of her mouth without thinking. If this happens to any of you pnm’s and someone says something referring to you being back in their house just know ONE girl can’t make that decision. I think she would have pushed for me during the week if I had made it past first round.

Well, maybe it did just fly out of her mouth. I get that! But, it could have swayed you when ranking your houses. Pnms take every word to heart.

And…….if you are one of those that has their mind set on a “top” house, don’t drop out of rush if you truly want to be a part of Greek life. Please don’t think you can do COB and get in later. If a “top” house drops you, they’re not picking you up later. There is a record number of pnms and each house will be hitting above quota - COB probably won’t be an option for anyone! So again, if you want to be a part of Greek life, do not drop! You don’t “deserve” any house more than any other pnm. You need to put on your big girl panties, humble yourself, and go in to those other houses with an open mind. There are “top” girls in every house!!!

Bumping - tomorrow morning will be heartbreaking for many pnms when they get their house list. Just remember, it does not mean that a house didn’t like YOU just because you were cut. Now will be the time to take a look at the houses you have left with a clean slate and open mind.

1000% - PNMs don’t focus on the houses that cut you, focus on the ones you have left each round. EVERY house on campus has great, beautiful, smart girls and the ones that invited you back…want you…focus on them!!!
