It’s important to go where you fit
by: Honesty
I’m in a top house. I remember standing with all my fellow pnms a few years ago anxiously awaiting to open my envelope. I had my top house and a lower one left on preference round. I opened my envelope and was so beyond excited that I got in! I did it, I was in a top house. But I’m going to keep in real with you now, I don’t fit in. I have no friends in my house. I have my big that I talk to on a rare occasion. I’m not involved at all. All I do is pay dues. I thought when I wore my letters it would help me be liked on campus but the truth is that nobody cares. Friends I had in more dorm went to mid and lower houses. They all made a ton of friends and love their houses. I got left behind. I know now that I made a mistake. I didn’t connect with my house during recruitment but I didn’t care - it was a top house.
Pnms, go where you connect. Don’t go where you don’t genuinely feel at home. It’s not about the letters, it’s about finding your place. No one cares if you’re wearing Kappa’s letters or DG’s. Follow your heart not the top/bottom house noise in your head. Just my raw and honest advice.
