Info for PNMs 2021
by: Hi
It’s a new year and fall recruitment will be here before we know it. Here is some info to help with the process.
You may have your heart set on a “top” house but the reality is that not every girl can be in those houses. There are “top” house quality girls in every single house here. Seriously. Keep an open mind and give every house an honest chance. I promise you that if you do, you may fall in love with a house that’s not even on your radar.
Follow ALL of the houses on Instagram. Don’t be the girl that is convinced she’s getting in house xyz, only follow them, then get cut first round. Other houses notice.
Follow the girls on ERC. The houses will be posting their recruitment committees so follow them. Get yourself noticed. If you have questions about their house, now is the time to dm them and ask. Don’t be offended and unfollow them if they don’t follow you back. They’re checking you out, I promise. Normally actives can’t have contact with pnms after spring break so the clock is ticking.
Make sure your Instagram isn’t private and clean it up. Remove any questionable posts that could reflect poorly on you.
Research the houses. Learn about their philanthropy. Make a list of any questions for each house that you can ask during recruitment to help with conversations.
Start getting your resume together. Start contacting alumni to write letters of recommendation for you. Get some great head shots! You can find out more info about everything you’ll need to submit on the Greek life website.
Have fun with it. Don’t stress yourself out or lock in on one or two houses. Like I said, every house here is incredible. You can and will find your people in any house if you give it a chance.
Good luck! We can’t wait to meet you in August!!

Hi! I read this and there’s so much truth here. I rushed this year. I will admit that I came on this site and read stuff and became very biased. If you’re a pnm here, you will become biased too. It’s inevitable. But I’d like to tell you about my experience. I went in completely set on 2. I wanted to be in one of those so bad!! I had them both until after philanthropy. I was heartbroken and honestly I hadn’t given the girls in the other houses I had talked to very much. I just wasn’t interested and didn’t give them a chance. How they didn’t cut me is still a mystery. I know I was not fun to try and talk to. So after I was cut from the 2 I really wanted I had a long come to Jesus with myself and got my mind right. I opened myself up to the ones I had left. In one house I talked to the same girl during sisterhood and pref. We clicked completely. This house wasn’t ever on my radar and I wasn’t interested at all until I allowed myself to open up. I had them and another “higher” house on pref. I listed them first above the other and that’s where I am today. My friends i had met in the dorm judged me for picking this house over the other but my heart told me this was right for me and it was right! Point is, if you’re here you will become biased. Don’t let that ruin your chances with other houses that you might click with. You will find your people. I did.
