Feeling Disconnected

by: curious

I pledged Chi Omega and was super excited but I’m just feeling super meh and disconnected from all the girls I’ve met? I don’t want to drop but don’t know if this is normal?

It is normal to feel that way regardless the chapter you are in. There are people in your class- just takes time to find them. Also- nothing says you cannot remain friends with your other fellow Greek and non Greek friends. Best of luck.

Stick it out! Unfortunately this is just a weird time and it’s hard to meet people with all the rules right now. Plus, even normal it takes people a while to find their group. For me I didn’t find mine until late fall of my second year. It can be frustrating but try to keep a positive outlook! Also participate in any and all activities that you are able to! Just remember you’re not alone and lots of freshmen are feeling the same way

I would say stick it out if she was in any other sorority. I have a friend who is a junior chi o and it took her over a year and a half to make her first chi o friend because of the way the girls act. Good luck

No need to be such a negative Nancy. Just because your friend had a hard time doesn’t mean every one does. I’m not a big fan of chi o either, but there’s no need to tell her to drop her chapter just because you don’t like them. We’re only 1.5 weeks passed bid day, no one can expect to have already met their bffs

I felt that way last year and am in another top house. It’s not chi o, it’s the fact that we are in a pandemic. I have heard chi o can be very cliquey but even if true there is no reason you can’t find your own clique. I had to work my butt off to find friends last year and it wasn’t during a pandemic. Best of luck to you!🌷

please don’t listen to all the comments talking negatively about chi o. this is your experience, not anyone else’s. it’s super common to feel weird for the first semester or so and feel like you don’t have a place. it isn’t because of the sorority you pledged (which is filled with incredible women, just like every other house on this campus). go to every single opportunity with your pledge class. send a message in your group chat and ask if someone wants to have a zoom lunch or a socially distanced picnic! or talk to the pc educator! they are all there to make you feel loved and welcomed. good luck!

You’re clearly not in XO. That’s cute though. Nice try.
