People take connections for granted
by: UnfairFor all you girls who just have an easy way into a sorority because you know someone from your home town, don’t take that for granted. Your experience is probably a million times better than most of ours just because you had someone pulling for you. So when rush is over u better give that girl a big thank you because you probably took the spot of girls who would fit perfectly into that sorority but have no connections

You expect Pan Love? And you probably wonder why sororities get bad reps for being airheads

Still wouldn’t help. Bottom line, if you have 75-100 girls from Little Rock in a house, they’ll continue to pull in their LR friends each year. Small town girl doesn’t have much of a shot because she doesn’t have the large cluster pulling for her.

If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it 1000 times. If you don’t have a girl on the inside, you don’t have any chance. And if you only have one girl on the inside you have very little chance. And so on. Legacies are almost problematic if you’re out-of-state- it no longer has nearly as much power and other sororities will cut you because they think you’ll go with the legacy sorority.

Must be a southern or easy coast thing. Legacies and rec letters aren't a thing taken in to consideration in Az universities.

Unfortunately the reality is that greek life as a whole is mostly built on connections. It’s hard to compete with generations of legacies who have their heart set on that house from birth it seems. That being said, the history of a sorority and the different traditions are what make each house special.
